Final Meeting of the MAGNET Project in Patras
The Final Meeting of the MAGNET – Managerial and Governance Enhancement through Teaching project (Erasmus+ CBHE 101083006) took place on 31 October – 1 November 2025 in Patras, Greece, hosted by the University of Patras and its Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL).
Partners from all twelve institutions — representing Greece, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia — came together to review project results, exchange good practices, and plan the sustainability of BALKANETUP (the Balkan Network for University Pedagogy).
The meeting began with a Conference on University Pedagogy, coordinated by Prof. Athanassios Karalis (University of Patras), with keynote speakers Prof. Katerina Kedraka (Democritus University of Thrace, Coordinator of the MAGNET project), Assoc. Prof. Anna Mavroudi (University of Oslo, Norway), and Dr. Warren Kidd (University of East London, UK), who shared insights on innovative teaching practices and the future of higher education pedagogy. Over the two days, partners reviewed the project’s key performance indicators (KPIs), presented progress reports, and discussed the development of Centers for Teaching and Learning (CTLs), MOOCs, and training activities. The meeting concluded with planning for the sustainability of the BALKANETUP network.
The MAGNET project, coordinated by Democritus University of Thrace, has over the past three years worked to modernize University Pedagogy across the Western Balkans, strengthen institutional capacity, and promote student-centered teaching and learning.
